School of Architecture and Civil Engineering has been deeply engaged in the construction industry for 40 years. Introduction to School of Architecture and Civil Engineering
School of Architecture and Civil Engineering is one of the key characteristic specialties of the school. It now offers 5 undergraduate majors, including Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning, and Engineering Cost. Disaster prevention and mitigation engineering, protection engineering and structural engineering are the key disciplines of Henan Province. Engineering Management is a pilot program for the reform of the training mode of engineering education talents in provincial universities. Architecture is a provincial characteristic major and a provincial first-class major. Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Laboratory is a provincial experimental teaching demonstration center. The Engineering Management Teaching and Research Office was awarded as the excellent grassroots teaching organization of Henan Province. The virtual simulation experiment of overall instability of H-shaped steel beam has won the provincial virtual simulation experiment teaching project. School of Architecture and Civil Engineering has been awarded the titles of Advanced Collective of Henan Province education system and Advanced Grass-roots Party Organization of Henan Province.
Faculty
At present, there are 85 staff in the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, including 29 with senior titles, 16 with doctorates, 2 excellent teachers in Henan Province, 5 young backbone teachers in Henan Province, 1 excellent educator in Henan Province, 1 scientific and technological innovation talent in Henan Province, 2 academic and technical leaders in Henan Province, 5 teaching pacesetters in Henan Province, and 28 teachers have obtained the national registration qualification. Civil engineering teachers team won the first batch of "National Universities Huang Danian Teachers Team".
Teaching, Learning and Research
School of Architecture and Civil Engineering has a strong scientific research force. In recent years, it has completed more than 40 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level, published 300 academic papers and 42 SCI and EI papers; It has officially published 46 academic monographs and textbooks, participated in the compilation of 2 national standards, won 26 national patents, 11 provincial teaching reform research projects, 1 special prize in the national young teachers teaching competition, and 4 first prizes of provincial teaching skills competition.
School of Architecture and Civil Engineering has a full-featured structure laboratory, building 1:1 physical scale model laboratory, civil engineering basic laboratory, mechanics laboratory and other 22 laboratories, BIM training center and prefabricated building technology training center. The Civil Engineering Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and the Engineering Mechanics Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center are the Henan Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center. There are three provincial-level scientific researches including the "Henan Energy Consumption Control Engineering Center" and the "Henan Bridge and Tunnel Nondestructive Testing Engineering Technology Research Center".
Relying on the "Huanghuai Construction" on-campus training platform and "Micro-architectural" studios and other cooperative development alliances, promote the "Double Subjects" cooperative education between schools and enterprises, realize the close connection between professional talent training and job demand, and the quality of talent training has been steadily improved. Students have won many prizes in the National College Student Mathematics Competition, the National College Student Structural Design Competition, the National Zhou Peiyuan Mechanics Competition and other competitions. Among them, Jia Guangtao's team won the provincial special prize of the 2018 National College Student Entrepreneurship Competition and the national bronze medal. The graduate entrance examination rate is over 20%, and the employment rate has been maintained at over 95%, ranking among the top of the school.
