All professional directions of the School of Biology and Food Engineering are in line with the major national development strategies. The teaching quality is among the top in universities of the similar level, and the admission rate is increasing year by year. In 2020, there are 187 undergraduate graduates, 79 of whom were admitted to pursue master's degree, and the acceptance rate was 42.25%, including 30 students were admitted by "Double First Class" universities. Introduction to School of Biology and Food Engineering
The School of Biology and Food Engineering is among the top from the aspect of teaching and research in Huanghuai University, and it has solid foundation in the field of school-enterprise cooperation, integration of production and education.
Faculty
It has 47 teachers, including 36 professors, associate professors, and senior engineers, 17 with doctors’ degree, 19 with the honor of young backbone teachers in Henan Province, or scientific and technological innovation talents in Colleges and Universities in Henan Province.
Teaching,Learning and Research
In recent years, teachers have published more than 400 academic papers, presided and finished more than 60 scientific research projects at all levels, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Henan Province Major Science and Technology Projects, and published more than 30 books.
The School of Biology and Food Engineering is fully equipped with experimental equipment with a value of more than 60 million yuan. It has 3 teaching and research platforms in provincial level: agricultural and sideline product resource utilization engineering research center, pepper core germplasm creation and molecular breeding innovation platform, and fermentation engineering experimental teaching demonstration center; and 7 teaching and research platforms in municipal level: Agricultural and Sideline Biotransformation Key Laboratory, Biological Veterinary Medicine Key Laboratory, Plant Pest Ecological Control International Joint Laboratory, Pepper Modern Breeding International Joint Laboratory, Garden Plant Engineering Technology Research Center, Breeding Wastewater Treatment and Utilization Engineering Technology Research Center, Edible Fungus Molecular Breeding and Industrial Application Engineering Technology Research Center. With a scientific research funding of more than 10 million RMB, it has formed different research directions such as stem cells and reproduction regulation, agricultural and sideline biotransformation and recycling, bio-sourced natural medicines, natural food additives, and garden plant pest control. The Yupo Fermentation Engineering College co-established with Yupo Group, and Agricultural Products Processing College co-established with the Zhumadian Municipal Government are located in the School of Biology and Food Engineering, which offered more training and employment platforms for students through the mode of government-school-enterprise cooperation and integration of production, education and research.

3. Food Science and Engineering

Bachelor's degree of engineering is awarded. Graduates can work in departments or companies such as food quality management, food quality inspection, and food production to do works relating with production technology management, sales, quality control, product development, scientific research, product design and can also engage in teaching and scientific research in food-related universities and research centers.
