In year 2020, 75 undergraduates have been admitted to postgraduate study. Technical innovation and school enterprise cooperation are the characteristics of the school. Among the graduates, there are 2 general managers of China's top 500 chemical enterprises and 3 chairmen of high-tech enterprises. Introduction to School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutics Engineering
School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutics Engineering, founded in 1975, is one of the first batch of key schools to set up undergraduate majors since the establishment of Huanghuai University. At present, there are more than 900 undergraduates majored in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Technology and Pharmaceutical Engineering. Applied Chemistry is a provincial key discipline and a provincial comprehensive reform pilot program. Chemical Engineering and Technology is a provincial first-class program, and Applied Chemistry Teaching and Research Office and Pharmaceutical Engineering Teaching and Research Office have been approved as provincial excellent grassroots teaching units. The school is a developing unit of master of engineering program in Henan Province, and has carried out master's joint training with COMSATS University in Pakistan.
Faculty
School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutics Engineering has 58 faculty members, including 7 professors, 15 associate professors, 34 faculties with doctor's degree and 7 faculties with international academic background. There are 4 academic and technical pioneers of Henan Provincial Education Bureau, 4 provincial young faculties of excellence, 2 teaching pacesetters in Henan Province, 6 professional and technical top-notch talents in Zhumadian City, and 6 part-time tutors for master students.
Teaching,Learning and Research
School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutics Engineering has good teaching and learning and scientific research conditions. The research centers include Polyimide Preparation Engineering Technology Research Center, Chemical Waste Recycling Engineering Technology Research Center, Surface Active Polymer Materials Innovative Science and Technology Research Center. There are more than 50 professional laboratories involving applied chemistry, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and more than 20 large and medium-sized instruments and equipment, such as GC-MS, LC, SEM and AFS.
In recent years, School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutics Engineering attaches great importance to the cooperation of production, teaching and research, and has built two university enterprise joint laboratories and one innovative science and technology team in Henan Province. It has obtained 7 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 26 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and 8 school enterprise cooperation projects. It has won 2 provincial teaching achievement awards, 17 provincial and municipal science and technology achievement awards, and 38 authorized invention patents.
School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutics Engineering implements the application-oriented talent training system with the trinity of knowledge, ability and quality and focusing on the sustainable development of students to create good conditions for students' innovation, entrepreneurship and career development. In recent years, our college students have won more than 30 first-class and second-class prizes in the "National Undergraduate Chemical Design Competition" and "National Undergraduate Pharmaceutical Engineering Design Competition".
Over the years, the enrollment rate of postgraduate entrance examination has been maintained at over 32%, and the employment rate of undergraduate graduates has reached over 95%. The quality of graduates has been affirmed and praised by employers. Many students have become senior managers or technical backbone of enterprises and institutions such as chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, environmental protection, commodity inspection, etc.
