HHU was founded in 1973, and has a history of more than 40 years. Originally, it was called Zhumadian teachers’ college, located at 599, Wenhua Rd. Zhumadian, Henan, 463000, China.

Our Foundation

To build a comprehensive university, Zhumadian Teacher's College, Forestry Research Institute and Zhumadian Vocational and Technical College were combined in 2005 under the new name of Huanghuai University (HHU).   The university administration is located at the North Campus on Kaiyuan Road in Zhumadian.

Today, HHU is a full-time, comprehensive undergraduate university. It has over 18,000 students and around 1,100 members of staff. HHU is committed to a number of goals:

·  to be an application-oriented university,

·  to provide excellent teaching,

·  to engage in original research in our areas of excellence,

·  to provide unparalleled pastoral care of our students

In striving to better fulfill these goals, HHU will play an ever more important role in the development of Henan province.

“There is no choice but to grow.”  We learned this from our origins, and since that time have developed three campuses with new facilities for teaching, student and staff accommodation, leisure and fitness.  We continue to add to, and improve, our facilities.
