The Department of Science and Technology of Henan Province recently announced the “2024 Henan Science and Technology Development Plan”. Huanghuai University achieved remarkable success with the approval of 50 projects, marking a significant increase in both the number of projects and funding received, reaching an all-time high. The university submitted 25 applications for the Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects, with 12 projects approved, resulting in a 48% success rate. Furthermore, out of 48 applications submitted for the Provincial Science and Technology Breakthrough Projects, 38 were approved, achieving a remarkable 79.2% success rate. These results highlight a significant improvement in the university’s project approval rate compared to previous years.

The Henan Science and Technology Development Plan, formulated by the Department of Science and Technology of Henan Province and the Department of Finance of Henan Province, aligns with the overall blueprint for scientific and technological advancement during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period and considers the province’s socioeconomic development goals. Serving as a crucial indicator of a university’s research capabilities and academic standing, the approval of these projects underscores the steady enhancement of our faculty’s research proficiency and academic expertise. Moreover, it significantly contributes to the university’s efforts in applying for authorization to grant master’s degrees.

In recent years, the university leadership has placed great emphasis on the application and review process for research projects. We have continuously increased investment in both the tangible and intangible aspects of scientific research, while also refining the application procedures for research projects. Moreover, we have invited renowned experts and professors to provide targeted guidance and training, resulting in a significant enhancement in the quality of project proposals. Moving forward, the university will continue to optimize the allocation of scientific research resources and enhance research management services. We are dedicated to fostering a favorable academic environment that empowers our researchers and drives continuous improvement in our scientific and technological innovation capabilities.
