The 5th Henan Undergraduate Teaching Innovation Competition, hosted by the Education Department of Henan Province, recently concluded at Zhengzhou University. After intense competition, all four participating faculty members from Huanghuai University were recognized for their exceptional teaching. Dr. Li Yong from the School of Architectural Engineering secured first place in the New Engineering category. Dr. Shi Dandan from the School of Foreign Languages earned first place in the New Liberal Arts category. Dr. Li Yijing from the School of Culture and Media was awarded first place in the Ideological and Political Education category. Additionally, Dr. Zhang Yingying from the School of Economics and Management received second place in the New Liberal Arts category.

The university placed great emphasis on this competition. From its launch, meticulous organization and planning went into every stage and aspect of preparation, from the campus level to the provincial level. This included a coordinated approach to participant selection, campus competition recommendations, and expert guidance. The remarkable achievements in this competition not only demonstrate the university’s enhanced capacity for teaching innovation but also showcase the effectiveness of its efforts in building a high-quality system for faculty development.

Utilizing this competition as a catalyst, the university will continue to adhere to the principle of “promoting teaching, reform, and innovation through competition”. We are committed to comprehensively enhancing faculty teaching capabilities, driving classroom teaching reform and innovation, deepening educational and teaching reforms, and advancing the pursuit of new developments in undergraduate education.
