The 11th “China Railway Major Bridge Cup” Henan Province Collegiate Structural Design Competition, concurrently serving as the Henan Division of the National Collegiate Structural Design Competition, was held at Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics from May 10th to 12th. This year’s competition saw enthusiastic participation with 72 teams representing 37 universities. After three days of intense competition, the student team and their faculty advisor from the School of Architectural Engineering proudly secured a Second Prize.
This competition served as a testament to the effectiveness of the university’s practical teaching methodology. It has not only ignited students’ innovative thinking but also played a positive role in cultivating their creativity, professional application skills, teamwork spirit, research and practical abilities, and comprehensive problem-solving skills. Moreover, the competition has fostered a positive teaching and learning environment, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere on campus.
The Collegiate Structural Design Competition, jointly endorsed and funded by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, is one of the nine national disciplinary competition initiatives. This prestigious competition, encompassing universities across the nation offering civil engineering programs and targeting undergraduate students, serves as a crucial platform for fostering talent within the field. It effectively enhances the cultivation of civil engineering professionals by establishing a practical platform for engineering education in higher education institutions. The competition aims to cultivate students’ innovative thinking, teamwork capabilities, and practical engineering skills, ultimately contributing to a significant improvement in the quality of innovative talent cultivation.
To select the best team to represent Huanghuai University at the 11th Henan Province Collegiate Structural Design Competition, the School of Architectural Engineering organized the 6th Huanghuai University Collegiate Structural Design Competition on April 1st. A total of 18 teams participated in this exciting competition. After a fierce competition, one team won the first prize, three teams won the second prize, and five teams won the third prize. Ultimately, two outstanding teams were selected to represent the university in the provincial competition.
