Exciting news has arrived from the organizing committee of the 2024 National English Competition for College Students! Our students have achieved outstanding results in the 2024 National College English Competition (Henan Division), securing 7 first-place awards, 35 second-place awards, 59 third-place awards, and 117 honorable mentions.

The 2024 National English Competition for College Students is a nationwide English proficiency contest for university students, endorsed by the Ministry of Education and jointly organized by the China Association of Higher Education for Foreign Language Teaching and Research and the National Foreign Language Teaching and Research Collaborative Group for Higher Normal Universities. Since its launch in January 2024, the competition has generated significant interest among our students and faculty. Over 1,000 students from various majors participated in the preliminary round, which was successfully held on April 21st at the university.

This competition aligns with the Ministry of Education’s higher education teaching evaluation, implementing its directives for English teaching reform. It also serves as a valuable assessment of the university’s public foreign language teaching reforms and achievements. The competition holds significant importance in comprehensively enhancing our students’ English proficiency and fostering their enthusiasm for language learning. Our university prioritizes “learning through competition” and “teaching through competition”, providing a platform and support for student development. Over the years, we have consistently pursued foreign language teaching reform, emphasizing both language application and comprehensive skills, and cultivating a sense of patriotism and a global perspective among our students.
