Inauguration of Co-Construction of School of Intelligent Manufacturing Between Huanghuai University and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Robot Group

Signing and Opening ceremony of Co-Construction of School of Intelligent Manufacturing Between Huanghuai University and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Robot Group was held in the afternoon of April 16^th. Vice Executive Secretary of China Association of Labor Economics (CALE) and director of Artificial Intelligence Committee of CALE Guo Fengrong, Deputy Mayor of Zhumadian Feng Yumei, president of HIT Robot Group Wang Meng, vice president Zhao Liang, Zhang Mingwen, school-enterprise cooperation manager of EDUBOT Yin Zheng, party secretary of Huanghuai University Yang Dedong, together with president Tan Zhen, vice presidents Wang Dongyun and Geng Hongqin attended the ceremony. Related departments, leaders and representatives from other departments attended the inauguration that was hosted by Wang Dongyun.

   On behalf of CALE and committee, Guo Fengrong congratulated on the founding of the school of Intelligent Manufacturing. He believed that with the joint efforts of HHU and HIT, the school will become an academic role model in Central China. He also encouraged the further cooperation between schools and enterprises so that the regional economic development and country’s strategy of innovation-driven development could be accomplished. He expected that the school can be a platform where international robots-making experts and first academic organizations can work together to help China to develop the robot technology, create innovation parks and facilitate the industrialization of robot and artificial intelligence, all of which can contribute to the development of intelligent manufacturing industry of Zhumadian.

    Wang Meng said in his speech that intelligent manufacturing is based on the integration of advanced information technology and manufacturing technology.  Accelerating the intelligent manufacturing is essential in the structural reform of our industry.  In 2015, China came up with the national strategy“Made in China 2025”. The 19^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China strongly called for the spirit of model workers and craftsmanship. Under this background, in order to respond to the call and achieve the upgrade of Chinese industry, the founding of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing is far-reaching. It not only establishes the education system of intelligent manufacturing, but also provides students with a stage where they can reach their potentials and pursue their dreams.

    Tan Zhen also expressed her gratitude. She said that Huanghuai University has always focused on becoming an applied technological university with distinctive features. HHU is persisted with the integration of industry and education and school-enterprise cooperation. With enhancement of academic subjects, school-running modes, and talents training mode, HHU has explored a realistic and suitable way for its development. She noted that the cooperation between HIT and HHU is an import step in promoting the development of integration of industry and education and school-enterprise education. The founding of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing enhances the innovation of enterprises and development of local education and economy. She hoped that the founding of the school will help with the improvement of research, academic work, faculty training, entrepreneurship, scientific services and informational communication of two universities.

    Later, Tan Zhen and Wang Meng on behalf of the school and enterprises, signed the cooperation agreements. Guo Fengrong, Feng Yumei, Wang Meng, and Yang Dedong inaugurated for the School of Intelligent Manufacturing.

   The School of Intelligent Manufacturing, co-established by HHU and HIT, will start to run in 2018 fall. The school will gather the advanced resources and integrate the idea, mode, and technology of intelligent manufacturing into the local industry to solve the common technical problems faced by enterprises. By cultivating excellent graduates for Zhumadian city, who can contribute to the scientific and economic development of southern region of Henan Province. Finally,  the School of Intelligent Manufacturing is also a developmental strategy of Huanghuai University during the thirteenth five-year period. It is a milestone in the development of HHU, which symbolizes that HHU has taken a new step towards the transformation to the university of applied technology.

    After the inauguration, Guo Fengrong hosted a seminar about Artificial Intelligence and Integration of Industry and Education in Huanghuai University Students Innovation Park.
